Action In Baaghi Is A Mix Of Martial Arts And Close Quarter Combat
From the time the trailer of 'Baaghi' was launched, the film's action has been talked about. While Tiger Shroff seems to be surpassing the 'stuntbaaz' i of his debut film 'Heropanti' in this Sabbir Khan directorial, Shraddha Kapoor impresses with her action avatar. As this Sajid Nadiadwala production nears its date with cinemas, here's looking at what makes the action in this film so thrilling...
Commandos' trainer has designed the action
Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj, who also trains commandos in various defence organisations, has donned many hats for this film. Apart from being the action consultant and designing the thrills, he also plays the role of Tiger's trainer. Moreover, before the young actor started shooting this movie, he trained under Shifuji, who is well versed in martial arts like Kalaripayattu and Kung Fu. He says, "The action in 'Baaghi' is ultimate and authentic, with no weapons. There's a lot of close quarter battle, which are used by commandos and special forces. These are based on endurance and speed."
Tiger Shroff trained in six martial arts including Kalaripayattu
Tiger has been associated with martial arts even before he made his debut. For his second film, the actor underwent extensive training in six different forms of martial arts, like Kalaripayattu, Silat, Krav Maga and Jeet Kune Do. He also went to Kerala, where he learnt Kalaripayattu from scratch as he wasn't aware of the intricacies of this form. The movie also required him to sport a certain physique and he thought it to be an excellent form of fitness as well. "Like water, Tiger used his energy and had to control flexibility as Kalaripayattu has a lot of stable moves. His signature move, with his hands next to his ears, is to watch out for," says Bhardwaj.
